So far in this course, you have only looked at discussion as a means for learners to collaborate. There are, however, many ways to promote collaborative learning, including group projects, virtual teams, team papers, group presentations, and role-play activities. There are also many tools that facilitate collaboration, including Adobe Acrobat Connect Professional, Wimba, Horizon Live, and Groove—the list goes on and on.

For this discussion, conduct independent research on a collaborative tool or learning method and present your findings to the rest of the group. Please include a discussion of the benefits and drawbacks of your choices.

    ## **Instructions**

    Create an authentic learning experience.

    – Develop a real-life scenario for your students to do so they can relate this to their employment.

Align learning activities to the stated learning objectives.

    – Learning activities are elements of a course that learners will complete that support the objectives of the unit and the unit assessments. Learning activities can take the form of discussion questions, papers, or detailed hands-on tasks, among other things.

Choose resources that support the successful completion of learning activities.

    – Your learning resources are the tools you will need as an instructor to facilitate learning, as well as things your students will need to successfully complete the learning activities. Common instructor resources include a computer, audio-visual equipment, and a training environment. Common learner resources include textbooks, articles, computer hardware, and software.
    – Your learning activities should map directly to the stated learning objectives. They should also align with the adult learning principles you have learned about in the previous units as much as possible. In your final paper that must accompany the final version of your course, you will need to provide an analysis of the activities you have selected, and that analysis should explain how your chosen learning activities are supported by learning theory and adult learning principles.

Provide instructions for the facilitation and completion of learning activities.

    – The purpose of this assignment is to demonstrate that you can select appropriate activities for your course. So, for the purposes of this deliverable, describe the activity. You need to write all the instructions that might go along with each activity.

    Module 5: Annotated Bibliography

    ·
    **Due** Tuesday by 11:59pm

    Overview

Organizational Leadership, Leadership Studies, etc., is a fairly young field of study. This is to your benefit though, for two reasons. First, you get to help shape the field. I never tire of reminding graduate students that the shift to graduate-level work is one from being a knowledge consumer to a knowledge producer. Second, while there is plenty of literature out there, it is not overwhelming.

As you think about your problem, your site, or the theory you're investigating further, this assignment is an opportunity for you to demonstrate that you have synthesized what other scholars have said about the topic that interests you. Lots of people have done all sorts of research, tested different theories, and examined many different contexts. What have we found out? Is there anything that is especially useful for you to know or challenges your preconceptions or conventional wisdom? What is the "state of the art"?

This assignment helps prepare you to complete the last assignments in this course as well as giving you a chance to write a literature review later in the program. Annotated bibliographies form the backbone of a literature reviews by showing that you have read and understood key research and can form arguments by locating your ideas in a body of scholarship.

    **_In this assignment, you will:_**

**1. Summarize the topic or question in 50 words or less:** This can be a theory, concept, or problem that your annotated bibliography elucidates. This will be the topic that you will pursue later in this course for the final assignments (and perhaps you will continue to consider this topic throughout your graduate study).

**2. Create an annotated bibliography of at least eight sources. _These sources must be new to you and NOT from your Theory Matrix. Also, only two of these sources may be older than 2015; most should be from the last decade._**   Each entry must include the following information for each of the sources:

    · Reference to the article (using the APA citation format)

    · keywords

    · type of research

    · research questions or hypotheses

    · summary of the article

    · contribution to understanding your topic.

To effectively write this annotated bibliography, obviously, you'll need to read each of the articles. Simply repeating published abstracts will not be sufficient.
