Many  music groups have an agenda incorporated into their lyrics. Find a  music group or artist with lyrics that could alienate or offend a  certain cultural group. In the first paragraph, identify the artist and  what could be deemed offensive or culturally offensive in their  lyrics. Then, in the second paragraph, suggest how the lyrics could be  changed to correct that potential offense.

Your outside source will be a source  that helps to identify the potential offense within the lyrics. You will  also want to provide the source where you found the lyrics in the first  place. So, for this analysis, you will have three sources in your Works  Cited.

    2) outside source-identifying lyrics

    3) outside source suggesting potential offense

Your purpose for this analysis is to  help the reader see that intercultural communication happens in many  different forms, including a musician's performance. As ethical  communicators, we should strive not to offend.

**J** ob interviews are always stressful, and preparation helps boost your self-esteem and consequently your prospects in securing the job you are interviewed for. You have had several, if not many, job interview experiences so far in your lives. Nonetheless, in this activity, you will practice responding to some tough APRN-focused interview questions. A list of questions is provided. Review them and
**post a video response** to one of the tough interview questions provided below.

To warm up and start preparing for this interview activity, let’s watch this video on body language, something that we think about and are conscious of during job interviews:

    **Interview Questions**

Choose one of the tough interview questions from the list to post a one to two minute video on how you would answer that question.

    1. What would you do if you disagreed with the care provided by your overseeing physician? Have you ever been in disagreement with a physician over the diagnosis or treatment of a patient? How did you handle the situation?

    2. How will you respond when a patient tells you they cannot afford the treatments you are suggesting they need?

    3. What will you do if a patient is yelling at you in your office because of any of the following? (Select one and respond):

    · You will not order a test they want to have done.

    · They are not responding positively to pain medication and request more than the allowable amount.

    · They ask you to refill one of their medications that was originally prescribed by another provider.

    · They request unnecessary antibiotics.

    4. Let’s assume that you are caring for a female patient. It is your understanding that she comes from a culture wherein a patient’s husband often speaks for the patient regarding all care. During a visit, how do you address the patient? What would you do if the patient does not speak at all? What if consent is needed for a procedure and the patient fails to show typical patterns of behavior demonstrating her knowledge and consent?

    5. Tell us about a time when you witnessed unethical behavior at your work as a nurse. How did you respond?

Estimate Costs is the process of developing an approximation of the cost of resources needed to complete project work. The key benefit of this process is that it determines the monetary resources required for the project.

_This process is performed periodically throughout the project as needed._ The inputs, tools and techniques, and outputs are shown in

The work package cost estimates are then aggregated for the higher component levels of the WBS (such as control accounts) and, ultimately, for the entire project.

[**Cost-benefit analysis.**](https://cdn2.percipio.com/1738725825.2b65f13ccd4c6dbc962d5db1309633909aaeb76f/eod/books/164936/OEBPS/section-3-90.xhtml) A financial analysis tool used to determine the benefits provided by a project against its costs. A cost-benefit analysis is used to estimate the strengths and weaknesses of alternatives in order to determine the best alternative in terms of benefits provided. A cost-benefit analysis will help the project manager determine if project activities are cost effective. A cost-benefit analysis compares the cost of an activity to the expected benefit.

**Cost of quality.** The cost of quality (COQ) associated with a project consists of one or more of the following costs (
[Figure 10-5](https://cdn2.percipio.com/1738725825.2b65f13ccd4c6dbc962d5db1309633909aaeb76f/eod/books/164936/OEBPS/chapter-10-83.xhtml) lists examples for each cost group):

    ▶
**Prevention costs.** Costs related to the prevention of poor quality in products, deliverables, or services of the specific project.

    ▶
**Appraisal costs.** Costs related to evaluating, measuring, auditing, and testing products, deliverables, or services of a specific project.

    ▶
**Failure costs (internal/external).** Costs related to nonconformance of products, deliverables, or services based on the needs or expectations of the stakeholders.

The optimal COQ is one that reflects the appropriate balance for investing in the cost of prevention and appraisal to avoid failure costs. Models show that there is an optimal quality cost for projects, where investing in additional prevention/appraisal costs is neither beneficial nor cost effective.

    Hi, Thad.
You should pick a published academic article that aligns with something interesting to you. The textbook references a lot of articles, for example, throughout the chapters. Your theory matrix also includes the "major thinkers" on a particular topic. So, the first place to look is at articles that are referenced in the textbook, read one of those, and write the summary. Even better, though, would be to find your own source on a topic of interest to you using a resource like
[scholar.google.com](http://scholar.google.com/). Say that you are interested in women's leadership in sports. You would then enter that search into google scholar and see what comes up. You'd review the articles, find one (ideally newer than 2015) and read it. You'd then provide the summary of that article. I recommend this second pathway.

The big idea is that you are building your own "database knowledge" on a leadership topic that is relevant to you. One core idea that separates graduate school from undergraduate is that you, yourself, should be researching and investigating things interesting to you whereas in undergrad you were told what to do. Now it's your turn to begin crafting your own thinking.

If you have doubts about the article you pick, please ask me before you do the work of reviewing it.

    **Research Question or Central Issue:**
The problem is that this paper tried to discuss and explore modern leadership theories and their practical consequences for organizations with different contexts. The research question has targeted the establishment of how different types of leadership styles influence organizational performance and employee satisfaction at a culturally diversified workplace.

    **Hypothesis or Research Questions**:

There had not been specific hypothesis, yet a few research questions were placed:

    1. How do the transformational and transactional styles of leadership link to the motivation and performance of the employees?

    2. What is the difference that cultural diversity makes to the effectiveness of the above two styles of leadership?

    3. How can the strengths of diverse teams be utilized positively by their leader?

    **Methodological Issues or Main Points:**

This is a conceptual paper that brings together existing research on various theories of leadership, namely, transformational and transactional aspects, as well as servant leadership, against the background of relevance in today's global diverse workspace.

    **Methods Used:**

This qualitative review article discusses and analyzes the current literature relating to the various theories on leadership. Additionally, the case study is used to illustrate the application of such theories in practice.

    **Major Variables/Issues**:

These main variables being the leadership styles-transformational, transactional and servant leadership while the rest are organizational effectiveness, employee satisfaction and cultural diversity.

    **Strength of Adopting this approach;**

    1. An intensive literature review will provide the wide scope for reviewing the current literature on leadership theories.

    2. Case studies presented will provide live evidence where some theories are practiced.

    3. Qualitative would give more insight into the subtleties of the leadership styles and how these would affect teams with diverse backgrounds.

    **Limitations of Using This Approach:**

    1. Inability to reach definite conclusions since empirical data is lacking.

    2. Any bias can occur if the studies reviewed are not representative.

    3. Case studies, even if relevant, cannot be generalized for any and all organizational settings.

    **Findings/Outcomes or Conclusions**:

It also follows that transformational leadership is most effective within diverse contexts because it allows the elaboration of innovative approaches adapted to the context. However, transactional leadership may turn out to be less productive within dynamic and multicultural contexts, but within stable ones, it will be just fine. As for servant leadership, it was underlined in the review as related to empathy and ethical considerations highly relevant to manage diverse teams.

    **Discussion of Findings:**

They go on to explain the results and give much importance to the fact that adaptive leadership is required and imperative in today's world of globalization. It has also emerged that the leaders need to be sensitive and flexible culturally in their approach in dealing with diverse teams. These results can be generalized in future studies as an extraction for studies conducted to evaluate leadership styles in diverse multicultural environments.

**Major Contributions to the Field of Diversity and Leadership:**

    1. Indicates the need for cultural diversity in respect to the effectiveness of the leadership

    2. Gives critical evaluations of current theories of leadership.

    3. The case studies give real life views of how such theories can be applied to diverse settings

    **Your Opinion/Reaction to This Article:**

This is a good source for information with regard to elaboration of leadership in a diverse environment. It was the emphasis on transformational and servant leadership that really called to my way of thinking, considering that effective leadership requires empathy, adaptability, and profound knowledge of cultural specificities. However, the limitation exists in the lack of empirical material, and further research has to be pursued with regard to quantitative tests for the validation of this type of results. Paper provides a good background in general for further research and greater application of leadership theories in multicultural settings.
