    Assignment Prompt & Instructions

**Case Study:** KGB (Killer Green Blasts) Lazer Spy Adventure has been a laser tag park for many years, but business is not as good as it once was. Its owner, Ken GB, is worried. He realizes that laser tag is losing popularity due to all the new technologies that have emerged recently.
KGB Adventure has had a Web site for some time, but Ken hadn't seen any need for the site to provide much more than location, hours, and prices for the park… until now. He decides it's time for an update, so he calls his Web Developer, Cindy.
Ken tells Cindy that he wants the site to be interactive and he wants feedback. He wants visitors to be able to take surveys, as well as rate the experience they had at the park. Ken is hoping to gain some insight into how he can grow his business again. "And while you're at it," he tells Cindy, "let's add some sly effects."
Cindy is on a mission. She crafts a wily Web persona fit for a spy. She makes a clever game where the user can follow clues and discover the undercover location of the park. She places hints for cunning visitors to pilfer top-secret information about park events. And she creates stealthy characters to guide the user through the site — if he can trust them.
She also posts interrogations for the site visitors: Quizzes that assess their detective work, surveys that prod for their interests, and a covert ratings page that allows them to say what they really think about the laser tag park — if they dare.
Cindy shows Ken the shrewd new site demo, and Ken gives a furtive smile. "It's great," he says as his smile fades, "but you should not have made it more fun than the park… " **Discussion Points:**
Consider this scenario and answer the following questions.
    – Many new technologies are available to make Web sites fun, but Cindy wants to use JavaScript to develop more robust content for the KGB Adventure site, and to keep it low-key, not flashy. How does JavaScript compare with some other technologies when it comes to making a site both fun and interactive?
    – How could Cindy change HTML on the fly to simulate a character guiding the user through steps in the site?
    – Ratings are important to businesses. How would a JavaScript form be able to help? How would on-the-fly updates make it more interesting for the visitor?

"Case: Designing Effective Sales Training at Harrison Pharmaceuticals
Harrison Pharmaceuticals released a revolutionary new cancer drug with the potential to change the entire health landscape. With the need to promote the drug in new and existing territories, it had to increase its sales staff and train on all aspects of the drug’s efficacy. Because of industry regulations, the company designed a blended learning program with all the information sales reps would need to explain the drug to all customers, from prescribing clinicians to pharmacists. It featured more than 100 hours of videos including doctor interviews, 2,000 pages of text about in-depth trial results, and an intensive three-day classroom training component. The training program included everything sales reps needed to know. Unfortunately, three months after completing the training program, many sales reps were not competent in their territories and could not answer doctors’ questions adequately. One problem with the program was that the sales reps had to learn too much highly technical information. But to be competent, they had to learn all of the information.
What are your recommendations for how the program could be redesigned to help the sales reps recall what they had learned? Provide your recommendations and explain why you believe they will help the sales reps improve their effectiveness.
Source: Based on I. Townley and J. Durkee, “Convert Learning Into Action,” T+D, December 2019, pp. 42–47.
    Please respond to the following:
"As the instructional designer for the training described in the case, how can you integrate technology and interactive elements to enhance learner engagement during the learning event?"

    Assignment Prompt & Instructions

    **General Instructions for your Assignments:**
During Week 1 through Week 7 of this course, you will have a new assignment each week. You should create a new set of files for each assignment. During Weeks 1 through 7 you are NOT building on your previous assignment, like you did in WEBD121. Instead you are creating a new set of files for each assignment. However, make sure you save all of your files from each assignment because you will need them later for your Final Project. During Week 8, for your Final Project, you will create a Home Page with a navigation menu that uses JavaScript for drop-down sub-menus, which will link all of your previous assignments together, creating a comprehensive website that showcases all of your work this semester.
You must write the code files by hand for all assignments in this class. A simple text editor, such as Notepad or Notepad++ will suffice (or TextEdit on the Mac). DO NOT use GUI editors, such as FrontPage, Dreamweaver, etc. You must write the code for your web page files yourself. If you are using a PC, it is strongly recommended that you download the free [Notepad++](https://notepad-plus-plus.org/) text editor because it contains extra features which assist with debugging, such as line numbering and color coding of different elements of syntax. **Mac users** should use the TextEdit text editor that comes with the Mac OS. However, if you are a Mac user, make sure you set [TextEdit](https://www.tekrevue.com/tip/textedit-plain-text-mode/) to use Plain Text by default.
Make sure all of your web pages comply with the HTML 5 standards and CSS standards. DO NOT use obsolete HTML elements and attributes from previous versions of HTML. By including the HTML 5 DOCTYPE declaration in your webpages, and validating all of your [HTML files,](https://validator.w3.org/#validate_by_upload) you can be sure that your code complies with HTML 5. Also, make sure that your external style sheet (.css file) passes validation at the W3C [CSS Validation](https://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/#validate_by_upload) Service. Make sure you use the "Validate by File Upload" option (and NOT the "Validate by Direct Input" option), on both of these validators since this is the way your instructor will check your pages when grading your assignments.
    **Specific Instructions for Assignment 5:**
Perform all of the following steps to complete this assignment:
    1) Begin by creating a new file in your text editor and include all of the basic HTML code like you did in your previous assignments. Or you can simply make a copy of your HTML file from last week and name the new copy LastFirstAssignment5.html (where "Last" is your last name and "First" is your first name), but be careful not to overwrite your file from last week because you will need it again when you do your Final Project during Week 8.
    2) Make sure you change the contents of the <title> tag to "Assignment 5" (just the words – not the quotation marks) and make sure your full name is inside of the <h1> heading, just like in your previous assignments. Also, delete the contents of the <script> tag — everything between the <!– and //–> tags, if you created your new file by making a copy of your previous file, because you will be creating a brand new page with different JavaScript code for this assignment. Save your file.
    3) Upload this file to the HTML [validator](https://validator.w3.org/#validate_by_upload) to check for compliance with the HTML5 standards. Your file should pass validation. If you receive any errors or warnings, then go back through the previous steps of the assignment again until you have corrected all errors and your file passes validation.
    4) Create another new file in your text editor and save it as Assignment5.css or make a copy of last week's CSS file, being careful not to overwrite last week's file.
    5) In your CSS file, write code to set the background color of your page to #F2E6FF and write code to center the h1 element. Save your CSS file.
    6) Access your webpage again in your browser and confirm that your page has a light purple background and that the heading is centered. Upload your CSS file to the CSS validator to check for compliance with the CSS [standards](https://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/#validate_by_upload). Your file should pass validation. If you receive any errors or warnings, debug your CSS code until you have corrected all errors and your file passes validation.
    7) Open your Assignment 5 HTML file for editing. Using JavaScript, create a slideshow that allows the user to scroll through pictures of your choice. You need to include at least 6 pictures in your slideshow. Read section 9.4 in your textbook for a full explanation on how to code this. The file example_getElementsByTagName.htm contains most of the code you will need.
Note: You may not use the same pictures provided to you with the sample code! You must choose your own unique pictures for your slideshow. Be sure to adjust the code to match the names of your own files. Also, be sure to include all image files in your zip file when you submit your work, or your professor won't be able to access your slideshow and grade your work.
    8) You may add any additional HTML, CSS, or JavaScript content that you wish, to practice more of the features that you have learned about in your online textbook, as long as all of your code files still pass validation. However, do not add anything to your files that would make them invalid according to the standards. You can confirm this by making sure your files still pass validation.
    9) Before submitting your assignment, validate your HTML and CSS files one last time at [Validation Service](https://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/#validate_by_upload) AND [W3C](https://validator.w3.org/#validate_by_upload), using the "Validate by File Upload" option. **Note: It is critical that you debug and fix ALL errors identified by the validator before submitting your assignments. Contact your instructor for assistance if you are having difficulty debugging and fixing your errors because it is imperative that all of your code files pass validation.**
    10) Create a zip archive containing all pages pertaining to your website (.html files, .css files, .js files, image files, etc). Make sure you maintain the necessary directory structure in your zip archive so that your webpages will refer correctly when unzipped. In other words, if your images are in a sub-folder, in relation to the folder containing your .html file, then you need to maintain that same directory structure in your zip archive, too, including the sub-folder. **Submit only the zip file for grading.**
    **Validation Requirements:**
    Before submitting your web site:
    1. Validate your HTML file at [W3C](https://validator.w3.org/#validate_by_upload), using the "Validate by File Upload" option, and fix any errors that the validator identifies before submitting your web site for grading.
    2. Validate your CSS file, using the " [Validate by File Upload](https://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/#validate_by_upload)" option, and fix any errors that the validator identifies before submitting your web site for grading.
**Note: It is critical that you debug and fix ALL errors identified by these two code validators before submitting your assignments. Contact your instructor for assistance if you are having difficulty debugging and fixing your errors because it is imperative that your code files pass validation.** Remember that valid JavaScript relies on a foundation of valid HTML and valid CSS to function as intended.
**Submission Instructions:** Create a zip file containing all files related to your web page (.html files, .css files, .js files, image files, etc). Make sure you maintain the necessary directory structure in your zip file so that your webpages will access correctly when unzipped. In other words, if your images are in a sub-folder on your computer, in relation to the folder containing your .html file, then you need to maintain that same directory structure in your zip file, too. Submit only the zip file for grading.

    Assignment Prompt & Instructions

A medication error refers to any preventable event that may lead to inappropriate medication use
or patient harm. These errors can occur at any stage of the medication use process, from
prescription and dispensing to administration and monitoring. Medication errors encompass a
wide range of mistakes, including incorrect dosage, drug interactions, administration route
errors, and prescription of the wrong medication.
This assignment is to enhance your understanding of the critical role that informatics plays in
healthcare, specifically in the context of medication management. Through the examination of a
medication error, you will develop a deeper appreciation for the impact of information systems
on patient safety, quality of care, and overall healthcare outcomes.
    INSTRUCTIONS
You will analyze a medication error case study using pharmacology and informatics materials to analyze, identify, and propose solutions to decrease the risk of medication errors. The case you will review can be found within the Medication Error Case Study document as found as a resource within the assignment in Canvas.
For this paper, after identifying and describing the medication errors in the case study, you will research and identify the factors contributing to the medication errors. Based on these findings, you will identify improvements to be made and explain how the use of informatics technology can eliminate or decrease the risk of the medication errors.
You will write a paper at least 1,250 words in length in current APA format on your analysis.
The title page and the references do not count towards the 1,250-word count requirement. Be sure to include all of the following within your paper:
    • Identify and describe at least 2 the medication errors from the Case Study.
    • Identify and describe at least 3 factors that contributed to the medication errors.
    • Based on the findings, identify improvements to be made and explain how the use of
informatics technologies (minimum of 2) could have eliminated or decreased the risk of
    the medication errors.

    Assessment Description

Content and project-based classroom events can be a fun way to engage students and involve families in their children’s education. Planning for such an event in your classroom is a significant task that requires time, preparation, attention to detail, realistic and specific expectations, and practice.

Select a grade level 5-8 and outline a lesson that integrates social studies and the arts and turns the classroom into a living museum as an instructional activity. The outline should be learner-facing and suitable for sharing with students and parents. Additionally, it must provide the rationale for the assignment, explain the requirements for successfully completing it, and describe the expectations for presenting the living museum material to peers and families.

For this assignment, create your student-facing outline in the following digital form

    · Digital pamphlet

Include the following in the outline for the living museum activity:

    · A state social studies standard, an arts standard, and learning objectives.

    · Expected length of the project implementation and student preparation time. Include a brief calendar of key checkpoints for progress.

    · Description of how and where the living museum will be presented, including how it successfully integrates two visual and/or performance art components (art, music, dance, drama).

    · Expectations for the student that clearly explain the requirements (i.e., select a historical figure that has had an influence locally or globally).

    · Description of how students will present their living museum piece, both visually and physically.

    · Guidelines for students on using technology appropriately to find and use informational resources as preparation for the living museum presentation, and how the use of technology can extend their possibilities for learning locally and globally.

    · The technological tools that will be used to share this event with the school, families, and the community.

Please submit the link to your digital outline and resources as a single document.

Support the digital outline with 2-3 scholarly resources.

_Note: This assignment may be added as an artifact to the teacher toolkit you created in ELM-555._
