    Assignment Prompt & Instructions

Middel range theories have been applied to nursing and psychology fields, for example in Nursing: A middle-range theory like Leininger's Cultural Care Theory could be used to explore how cultural factors impact patient care and in In Psychology: Bandura’s Social Cognitive Theory might be used to study how individuals learn behaviors through observing others, which could be applied to phenomena like aggression or educational achievement. Middle-range theories in nursing and physiology connect big ideas with real-world use, helping nurses understand patient behavior and improve care (Smith et al., 2024). Liehr and Smith’s concept building process is a 10-phase process which allows one to reflect on and delineate an area of interest, formulate abstract ideas through reflection, then formulate a concrete concept with its conceptual definition. Children and adolescents are faced with multiple stressors that will lead to insecurities and fears, often both groups will recover from such stressors through resilience that promotes positive outcomes and positive mental health outcomes.

The purpose of building the concept of nurturing resilience is to clarify the meaning of this concept in children and adolescents, develop a conceptual definition of nurturing resilience, and provide a conceptual model of nurturing resilience based on the building process. The concept was formulated utilizing Liehr and Smith's practice-based approach to concept building (Martinez, & Opalinski, 2019). It is imperative that nurses use the resilience theory to promote balance and a positive outcome. Resilience is a protective mechanism which keeps youth balanced while promoting positive mental health when faced with adversities by allowing one to bounce back after adversity to an original, fundamental state (Martinez & Opalinski, 2019). Nurses need to be able to be resilient in order to promote it and achieve positive outcomes in children and adolescents. Nurturing resilience provides adolescents and children the ability to change in response to difficult circumstances; in turn, mental distress is reduced, and mental health of youth are optimized.

**Module 6: Contingency Planning with AI**

For this activity, you will be utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) to assist you with generating preliminary identification of potential threats at a healthcare organization for the purpose of obtaining a starting point of examples of contingency plans that you may need to consider.

You will be first validating that the AI response(s) is/are valid concepts by comparing them against course material and relevant resources. Consider whether the AI's suggestions align with best practices in healthcare data security and if they address the specific challenges outlined in the case scenario. Next, you will be summarizing the AI (ChatGPT) results in your own words, with an emphasis on your analysis and critical thinking. The last step will be to highlight how the AI's suggestions fit within the context of the case scenario and your understanding from the course.

The last step will be to provide an outline in your own words, drawing on the insight you have learned throughout this course, to provide an outline of how you would develop the contingency plan.

Recommend utilizing your textbook as a resource to support your answer.

    Case Scenario to Address

You are part of a large hospital’s Privacy & Security Team. Your team has just discovered that the network is encountering some challenges with data encryption and unauthorized access to patient information. The Chief Information Officer has asked your team to develop an effective contingency plan that will be designed to protect patient data and ensure system availability in the event of future cyber-attacks. The plan needs to provide strategies that provide for routine backups to the system, data encryption, a set of rapid response protocols to mitigate the threat, and an employee training plan.

    Suggested ChatGPT Prompt to Use

As a privacy and security specialist, you have been asked to draft an outline of a proposal for a contingency plan to protect the hospitals patient data that addresses system back-ups, rapid response protocols for possible threats, a training plan for employees on security, and suggestions for data encryption methods.

Your deliverable will be a minimum of a half-page paper that is double-spaced, with a maximum page length of one-and-a-half pages. Carefully review the expectations listed here:

Preparation: You have validated the AI response(s) by comparing them against course materials and relevant resource. At this point, you should have determined if AI's suggestion(s) align with best practices in healthcare data security and if they address the specific challenges within the case scenario provided.

    1. Clearly show within your paper, a summary
using your own words, what the response from the AI (ChatGPT) is that you are
summarizing (this does not need to be in APA formatting to fulfill this activity) along with your analysis of the case.

**Important Note: While AI can generate useful content it is critical that you are able to understand and interpret the situation to ensure that you are able to create a strong contingency plan. Your paper should be entirely in your own words.**

    2. Clearly note within your paper, using parenthesis, where you are utilizing examples from the textbook – you should be summarizing in your own words, for this informal activity APA formatted references are not being required, only that you are making note of textbook (or other resource by providing name of resource and section) summarized support.

    3. Have fun with this experiment!

Note: The purpose of this AI Activity is to demonstrate useful ways you can utilize ChatGPT (or other AI) to brainstorm preliminary ideas and that you need to validate that the generated response is accurate.

Abstract: On April 27, 2011 a series of tornadoes tore through the southeast United
States. Sixty-four percent of the counties in the state of Alabama were directly
affected by these storms. After a natural disaster, children who are directly or
indirectly affected show numerous intense emotional reactions. Recovery programs
can be set up to enable them to combat these reactions, and decrease stress. At
the University of Alabama, the goals of a recovery program were to reduce students'
anxiety and stress levels, offer students developmentally appropriate physical
activity, allow students the opportunity to share their experiences, and provide
students with methods to cope with the traumatic event. The recovery program
encompassed both somatic and physiological stress-reducing techniques in addition
to art therapy and group sharing sessions. The purpose of this article is to describe
how the recovery program was created, share the challenges that were faced, and
explicate the experiences from the program.

    Part 1:

Review a professional resource ( peer-reviewed journal or text) on counseling following a Natural Disaster.

The review must provide the following (hummm…these look like headings in a paper to me; hint, hint):

    1. Source reference in APA 7th reference style,

1b. Citations as necessary (this is only an issue if you reference other's article information in your summary, otherwise it is assumed that the summary is strictly dealing with the single article / text referenced). Summarize the article well,

    2. Note strengths and weaknesses of the article,

    3. and the Benefit / Negative (pro/con) to the student as a counseling professional. There is no page limit. Cover all of the required points well / thoroughly and all will go well.

I prefer if you can do so with efficiency and brevity, perhaps even eloquence. But I have no minimum or maximum limit of pages (that is an archaic structure that limits self-expression).

Upload a document of your summary in .doc or .docx format

As we are using TurnItIn to combat AI and plagiarism, you are recommended to turn in your paper early, return to the assignment after TurnItIn has reviewed your submission, and then use the TurnItin analysis to improve your paper.

    Part: 2 (

Select one of the websites listed at the end of Chapter 1 and review it for the group: (1) Give the correct web address (especially if the link in the book is out of date); (2) Describe any helpful resources on the site; (3) Strengths & Weaknesses of the site; and(4) your overall impression/reaction to the site (10 pts). ) ~~Respond to 2 other classmates’ postings for full credit. Response credit follows Discussion rubric available on Canvas. Remember: 1) The discussion deadline for all initial discussion posts and response posts is 11:59p CT on the Sunday that marks the end of each class week (see syllabus for discussion deadlines). 2) You must respond meaningfully (no simple “I agree” replies) to 2 classmates for full credit on discussion posts (6 pts for the original post, 2 pt each for each response to the discussions.

    Remember:

    1) The discussion deadline for all initial discussion posts
**and** response posts is 11:59p CT on the Sunday that marks the end of each class week (see syllabus for discussion deadlines).

    2) You must respond meaningfully (no simple “I agree” replies) to 2 classmates for full credit on discussion posts (6 pts for the original post, 2 pt each for each response to the  discussions).

    3) Also remember that the Rubric for Online Discussion Posting (in the Files section of this course) deducts points for discussion or response postings late in the timeline for the week’s discussion assignment as last day/last hour postings restrict other student’s opportunity to read and respond to your posting, or to read your responses to their postings. As discussions are most beneficial when the discussants are able to interact in the discussion, I am using the Discussion Rubric to engender a greater opportunity for them to do so. So please be aware that posting within 12 hours of the discussion deadline will deduct 33% of the available points and posting within 4 hours of the deadline will cost from 66%-90% of the available points.

    4) No discussion or response points will be gained if the discussion post, or the response posts are after the discussion deadline.

    1.
    **Helpful Resources:**
The American Counseling Association (ACA) website is a great resource for anyone who is either pursuing a career in counseling, looking for counseling, or both (as counselors reach out for support too as a part of selfcare). One of its key features is a searchable database that allows users to find counselors in their area, with options for in-person or online sessions. Users can even filter their search by insurance provider, which is half the battle. There is an option to become a member, which comes with some great discounts and perks.  The membership is set up on a tier, so you’re only paying for what you need – whether you’re a student or a professional.  The website also has links to other publications where you can find the latest news, journals, articles, and updates; although some of these are only available through the membership The ACA website also provides opportunities for continuing education, offering online courses that provide credits for counselors. These courses are available to both members and non-members, making it easy for professionals to stay up-to-date with the latest developments in their field.

    **Strengths and Weaknesses:**

The American Counseling Association (ACA) website is user-friendly, making it easy to find exactly what you're looking for. A helpful feature is the frequently asked questions section, which provides guidance if you're unsure about what you need. Initially, I was skeptical about the membership requirement, concerned that it might be another expensive subscription. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the membership prices are very affordable, ranging from $105 to $189 annually, depending on your needs.
One potential area for improvement might be the addition of a community events search feature, allowing users to find local health and wellness events by zip code. While the website does have an events section, it is primarily focused on ACA-specific events.

    **Overall Impression/Reaction:**
What I appreciate most about the American Counseling Association (ACA) website is its accessibility. Not only is membership affordably priced, but also, the website's valuable resources, educational materials, and information are available to everyone, regardless of membership status. Its extensive list of resources covers a wide range of topics related to counseling and mental health, making it a useful tool for anyone looking to learn more about these subjects.

The nice part about this website is that AAS accreditation ensures that your program’s service delivery adheres to internationally recognized standards. Help seekers and their supporters can trust that the services they receive are of the highest quality.

It also has the following services:

Our accreditation process encompasses a variety of crisis service modalities, including but not limited to:

    Telephone Crisis Services

    Text-Based Crisis Services

    -Based Applications (Online Emotional Support)

    Mobile Crisis Services

    Other 24/7 Crisis Support Services

Other references are the annual conference that is sponsored by the American Association of Suicidology:  Conference

I liked the site because it offers a tremendous amount of information on the history of the organization, its mission statement, how it aids others who are suicidal, and the training that people can acquire. There are a lot of resources on suicidal loss, prevention, help for the military, schools, autism, and a 988 overview.

Lastly, it assists in getting crisis training and specialization along with how to respond to a suicide or crisis risk. The more information and training one can acquire, the better we become as counselors.

    **## Articlereview3.docx.pdf.docx**

    Respond to two students below:

I liked the site because it offers a tremendous amount of information on the history of the organization, its mission statement, how it aids others who are suicidal, and the training that people can acquire. There are a lot of resources on suicidal loss, prevention, help for the military, schools, autism, and a 988 overview.

Lastly, it assists in getting crisis training and specialization along with how to respond to a suicide or crisis risk. The more information and training one can acquire, the better we become as counselors.
