    Assignment Prompt & Instructions

**any use of AI will result in automatic 0**
**Content area teachers often complain about students’ lack of  writing skills and go on to remark it is not their job to teach students  to read and write.**
**Imagine you are meeting with a professional learning  community (PLC) or team. Write an argument, supported by research, that  proves otherwise as an original response.**
    – Why do teachers resist incorporating writing and reading instruction into content instruction?
    – Using the Module 8 reading by Graham et al. (2017) as a resource,  how would you explain the differences and overlaps between content area  literacy and disciplinary literacy? Why is it beneficial for teachers to  know the difference?
    – How can literacy leaders support content area teachers in the teaching of reading and writing skills?
    R1
Content  area teachers often express frustration over students’ lack of writing  skills, frequently asserting that teaching literacy is not part of their  job. However, this perspective overlooks the integral role that reading  and writing play in mastering subject-specific content. Literacy is not  confined to English Language Arts; it is a foundational skill that  supports learning across all disciplines. According to Reading Rockets,  writing helps students clarify their thinking, deepen understanding, and  retain information. When students write to explain a scientific concept  or analyze historical events, they engage more critically with the  material (Reading Rockets, n.d.).
One reason content area teachers  resist incorporating literacy instruction is a lack of training and  confidence. For example, physics teachers often rely on shorthand,  equations, and visual data, which may not align with traditional writing  instruction. This disconnect can lead teachers to believe they are  unqualified to teach reading and writing. However, Graham et al., (2017)  emphasize that disciplinary literacy, how experts read, write, and  think within their fields, is essential for authentic learning. Teaching  students to engage with texts as professionals do in each discipline  fosters deeper comprehension and critical thinking.
Understanding the distinction between  content area literacy and disciplinary literacy is crucial for  effective instruction. Content area literacy involves general strategies  like summarizing, questioning, and using graphic organizers that apply  across subjects. In contrast, disciplinary literacy focuses on the  specialized ways of reading and writing unique to each field, such as  interpreting graphs in science or analyzing primary sources in history.  Graham et al. (2017) argue that while content area literacy builds  foundational skills, disciplinary literacy enables students to think and  communicate like experts. Recognizing this difference allows teachers  to tailor instruction to both general and discipline-specific needs.
Literacy leaders can support content  area teachers by acknowledging two key benefits of integrating reading  and writing: improved comprehension and enhanced critical thinking.  Professional development that demonstrates how literacy strategies align  with disciplinary goals can empower teachers to incorporate these  practices confidently. By embracing literacy instruction, content area  teachers not only improve student outcomes but also cultivate deeper  engagement with their subjects.

    R2
Recognizing the significance of literacy, research indicates that  integrating literacy components into subject-specific courses can  improve student learning outcomes. A key barrier to this integration  remains educators’ comfort and proficiency in embedding literacy within  their own disciplines. Therefore, targeted coursework designed to  reinforce students’ literacy development in reading and writing is  essential. Technological advancements offer valuable resources for such  integration and contribute to diversified learning opportunities;  however, teachers’ confidence and fidelity in implementing these  approaches are still under scrutiny.
While early education prioritizes foundational literacy skills,  educators at higher grade levels often lack comparable training or  exposure needed to strengthen what was established during students’  formative years. This inconsistency in instructional practice leads to  an increased prevalence of students deficient in basic reading and  writing abilities, consequently challenging teachers’ abilities to  support these critical skills within their current coursework. Literacy  is known to establish essential foundations, and research (Graham et  al., 2017) underscores the need for discipline-specific literacy  instruction tailored to student needs. Given the challenges educators  face, curriculum demands, differentiated instruction, and large class  sizes, it is vital to equip both novice and experienced teachers with  appropriate tools and professional development necessary to enhance  student learning outcomes.

    Assignment Prompt & Instructions

    Scenario
You are working as a cybersecurity analyst at FinSecure Corp, a midsize financial organization. A recent malware incident has prompted a comprehensive review of the company's incident response procedures and network security architecture. FinSecure operates primarily in an on-premises environment with some remote users connecting via VPN. As part of this review, you have been asked to evaluate how the incident was handled, assess the network architecture for vulnerabilities, and recommend adjustments to firewall and intrusion detection system (IDS) configurations to prevent future threats.
Refer to the attached "Incident and Network Security Artifacts" in the Supporting Documents section.
    Requirements
    A.  Evaluate the organization's response to the security incident by doing the following:
    1.  Identify **three** actions the organization took in response to the incident.
    2.  Evaluate the effectiveness of _each_ of the **three** actions from part A1 using a recognized incident response framework (e.g., NIST, SANS, ISO).
    3.  Recommend **two** improvements to the organization’s incident response procedure that would strengthen detection, containment, or recovery efforts in future incidents, and justify why _each_ recommendation would improve the organization’s incident response effectiveness.
    B.  Analyze the provided network architecture diagram and firewall configuration by doing the following:
    1.  Identify **three** vulnerabilities, design flaws, or misconfigurations that create or enable security risks in the network setup.
    2.  Recommend a secure network design or remediation strategy for _each_ of the **three** identified issues in part B1, and justify why _each_ recommendation would improve network security.
    3.  Explain how _each_ recommendation in part B2 would improve the network's ability to resist or detect threats and support the confidentiality, integrity, or availability (CIA) of information.
    C.  Review the existing firewall and IDS rule sets by doing the following:
    1.  Identify **two** weaknesses or gaps in the existing firewall or IDS rule sets that create or could allow security risks.
    2.  Explain how _each_ weakness or gap identified in part C1 could allow known threats to exploit the network. Support your explanation with evidence from the provided artifacts.
    3.  Propose **two** updated or additional firewall or IDS rules to address the weaknesses identified in part C1, and justify how _each_ proposed rule would improve network security and help defend against the threats discussed in part C2.
    D.  Acknowledge sources, using in-text citations and references, for content that is quoted, paraphrased, or summarized.
    E.  Demonstrate professional communication in the content and presentation of your submission.

    – ## Boyatizisyoutube.docx

    **## Boyatizisyoutube.docx**

    **Instructions**

    **Part A**

**This assignment was done all wrong. The writer did not put in any of the examples of a leader. You have to name a leader in your life who fit one of the six leadership styles below in bold. That person can be anyone, that fits that leader style. You will have to state why you think they are this leadership style. It will be a total of 6 leaders, that include anyone from Nelson Mandela or anyone who has been a leader of one of these styles. You can add parts of what was written below to make it more than 800 words.**

The concept of Daniel Goleman of the six leadership styles that is
**coaching, visionary, affiliative, democratic, commanding and pace setting**, all show that for one to be an effective leader, one requires to be emotionally intelligent and also be able to adapt easily. Each style emerges from different emotional competencies and has distinct effects on organizational climate and performance.

The visionary leader will inspire with a collective purpose. This is a very successful style in the process of change or crisis since it brings the people aligned to the long-term objectives. It is the task of a coaching leader to identify the strengths of the individuals and to develop them with the help of feedback and mentoring, which helps them to create trust and loyalty. The affiliative style encourages peace, focusing on emotional attachment and cooperation; the style is especially effective in restoring a divided relationship or boosting the spirit. In the meantime, the democratic style encourages involvement where the team members are allowed to express themselves, and make their contribution to the decision. These four styles, visionary, coaching, affiliative, democratic styles, generate good resonance, which increases motivation and creativity.

I like the idea of a visionary leader because this type of leader is one of the main styles that the military uses, especially when it comes down to offering positive leadership for newly and young troops.  When I was a young troop, I looked to visionary leaders because they were the ones who helped me grow in my career.

The commanding and pacesetting styles should be cautiously implemented. The pacesetting leader will have high standards and demand excellence which can spur performance but will lead to burnout or anxiety when it is excessively applied. The leader with command, who acts like a director in the army, will want things done as he orders them, and this may work in times of crisis, but may have long-lasting adverse effects on morale.  The commanding leadership is one that is highly used in the military, but at times, it can be quite concerning when you have a leader who does not understand how to command and lead both at the same time.  While I have used commanding and the visionary approach, I prefer the visionary approach over the commanding approach, at this time in my career.
