    Assignment Prompt & Instructions

    Scenario
You are working as a cybersecurity analyst at FinSecure Corp, a midsize financial organization. A recent malware incident has prompted a comprehensive review of the company's incident response procedures and network security architecture. FinSecure operates primarily in an on-premises environment with some remote users connecting via VPN. As part of this review, you have been asked to evaluate how the incident was handled, assess the network architecture for vulnerabilities, and recommend adjustments to firewall and intrusion detection system (IDS) configurations to prevent future threats.
Refer to the attached "Incident and Network Security Artifacts" in the Supporting Documents section.
    Requirements
    A.  Evaluate the organization's response to the security incident by doing the following:
    1.  Identify **three** actions the organization took in response to the incident.
    2.  Evaluate the effectiveness of _each_ of the **three** actions from part A1 using a recognized incident response framework (e.g., NIST, SANS, ISO).
    3.  Recommend **two** improvements to the organization’s incident response procedure that would strengthen detection, containment, or recovery efforts in future incidents, and justify why _each_ recommendation would improve the organization’s incident response effectiveness.
    B.  Analyze the provided network architecture diagram and firewall configuration by doing the following:
    1.  Identify **three** vulnerabilities, design flaws, or misconfigurations that create or enable security risks in the network setup.
    2.  Recommend a secure network design or remediation strategy for _each_ of the **three** identified issues in part B1, and justify why _each_ recommendation would improve network security.
    3.  Explain how _each_ recommendation in part B2 would improve the network's ability to resist or detect threats and support the confidentiality, integrity, or availability (CIA) of information.
    C.  Review the existing firewall and IDS rule sets by doing the following:
    1.  Identify **two** weaknesses or gaps in the existing firewall or IDS rule sets that create or could allow security risks.
    2.  Explain how _each_ weakness or gap identified in part C1 could allow known threats to exploit the network. Support your explanation with evidence from the provided artifacts.
    3.  Propose **two** updated or additional firewall or IDS rules to address the weaknesses identified in part C1, and justify how _each_ proposed rule would improve network security and help defend against the threats discussed in part C2.
    D.  Acknowledge sources, using in-text citations and references, for content that is quoted, paraphrased, or summarized.
    E.  Demonstrate professional communication in the content and presentation of your submission.

    – ## Boyatizisyoutube.docx

    **## Boyatizisyoutube.docx**

    **Instructions**

    **Part A**

**This assignment was done all wrong. The writer did not put in any of the examples of a leader. You have to name a leader in your life who fit one of the six leadership styles below in bold. That person can be anyone, that fits that leader style. You will have to state why you think they are this leadership style. It will be a total of 6 leaders, that include anyone from Nelson Mandela or anyone who has been a leader of one of these styles. You can add parts of what was written below to make it more than 800 words.**

The concept of Daniel Goleman of the six leadership styles that is
**coaching, visionary, affiliative, democratic, commanding and pace setting**, all show that for one to be an effective leader, one requires to be emotionally intelligent and also be able to adapt easily. Each style emerges from different emotional competencies and has distinct effects on organizational climate and performance.

The visionary leader will inspire with a collective purpose. This is a very successful style in the process of change or crisis since it brings the people aligned to the long-term objectives. It is the task of a coaching leader to identify the strengths of the individuals and to develop them with the help of feedback and mentoring, which helps them to create trust and loyalty. The affiliative style encourages peace, focusing on emotional attachment and cooperation; the style is especially effective in restoring a divided relationship or boosting the spirit. In the meantime, the democratic style encourages involvement where the team members are allowed to express themselves, and make their contribution to the decision. These four styles, visionary, coaching, affiliative, democratic styles, generate good resonance, which increases motivation and creativity.

I like the idea of a visionary leader because this type of leader is one of the main styles that the military uses, especially when it comes down to offering positive leadership for newly and young troops.  When I was a young troop, I looked to visionary leaders because they were the ones who helped me grow in my career.

The commanding and pacesetting styles should be cautiously implemented. The pacesetting leader will have high standards and demand excellence which can spur performance but will lead to burnout or anxiety when it is excessively applied. The leader with command, who acts like a director in the army, will want things done as he orders them, and this may work in times of crisis, but may have long-lasting adverse effects on morale.  The commanding leadership is one that is highly used in the military, but at times, it can be quite concerning when you have a leader who does not understand how to command and lead both at the same time.  While I have used commanding and the visionary approach, I prefer the visionary approach over the commanding approach, at this time in my career.

    Module 4: Discussion

    Instructions

In each module, you will have the opportunity to participate in an online discussion forum.

This week, there is only one basic prompt that you need to address, followed by at least three response posts.  Do take this as an opportunity to connect to a few of your classmates — maybe to folks who you have not chatted with at this point.

**_Hot Tip:_** _It might be helpful to copy-paste the discussion prompts into an offline document (Word, for example), compose your responses offline, and then return to copy-paste your responses here._

**NOTE:** _Please include each discussion prompt prior to your responses — or use topical headings or numbers to make it easy for readers to see that you’ve covered all of the prompts/items._

This Discussion exercise is basically a "check-in" exercise — an open prompt.  That is, when you reflect on the contents of the module (the chapters read in
_Primal Leadership_ including Boyatzis's Theory of Self-Directed Learning [Intentional Change Theory] — and the prompts that you moved through in Critical Thinking/Application Prompts exercise), what is something that stood out to you this week?  What is something that was muddy?  Did you have any "aha" moments?  Share here.
**Write at least 300 words.** (Word counts are minimums – do feel free to exceed.)

**The impact of the Pandemic on McDonald's.**

    Course

    **Introduction**

The COVID-19 pandemic brought many difficulties to businesses worldwide, and McDonald's, one of the biggest fast-food chains, was no exception. The company was challenged in many different areas; however, the ones that stood out to me the most were health and safety concerns and deteriorating customer services.

    **Health and Safety Concerns**

One of the most urgent problems McDonald's had to deal with during the pandemic was health and safety. The close interaction in fast-food restaurants increased the possibility of a viral spread. Such issues as a lack of personal protective equipment (PPE), irregular social distancing, and delays in informing the workers about the COVID-19 cases among co-workers were listed. Workers complained that they were occasionally required to work without proper safety equipment, and consumers were concerned with hygiene (Chong et al.,2022). These issues caused people to shout, labor unions to push, and lawsuits against the company for negligence in protecting people. Some recommendations that McDonald's should have implemented were the use a corporate-wide safety system based on technology. This may involve real-time health monitoring, auto contact tracing, intelligent sanitation and UV-light cleaning system. This would decrease human error, improve the response time in an outbreak, and increase safety and transparency through automated systems. The presence of visible safety measures, including automated sanitation tools, would give hope to customers and employees, increasing trust in the brand. Such a strategy would also minimize the threat of lawsuits in the future and make McDonald's a proactive, innovative leader in the public's health safety in times of crisis.

    **Declining Customer Service**

The pandemic led to poor quality of customer service, primarily because of staff shortage and operational pressure. Overworked employees experienced more lines, frustrated customers, and more errors in orders(Norbutayevich,2025). Drive-thru traffic increased due to the closure of the dining rooms, yet employees tended to be unable to handle the demand, resulting in long queues and errors. In the same way, the mobile app, as convenient as it was, did not always interface with in-store processes, bringing more delays. Such service breakdowns damaged the reputation of McDonald's as a fast and reliable restaurant, and customer satisfaction surveys showed a decline in loyalty. Some recommendations would have been to become more efficient and decrease the number of stressful situations among the staff, McDonald's will have to increase the utilization of automation and digital technology. These involve self-service kiosk (which has been implemented), scaling and updating the mobile application and voice-powered AI-based ordering systems in the drive-through lanes. Accuracy and speed in ordering, as well as digital menu boards and dual-lane drive-thru, could help reduce congestion and improve the innovative technologies in the kitchen. These tools would be supplemented by employee training that will provide staff with an effective way of dealing with customer frustrations. The automation of routine procedures would allow the employees to concentrate their energies on food preparation and delivery would minimize wait time and errors. Improved digital channels would satisfy the changing consumer needs for contactless service and increase customer satisfaction. Accepting the latest technology would help the company modernize its service model, relieve the pressure on the employees and secure the brand image.

    **Conclusion**

The COVID-19 crisis revealed significant weaknesses in McDonald's work, such as health and safety risks and poor customer service. Solutions would have been stronger by implementing technology to drive safety systems and investing in technology to serve customers better. These plans are not only trying to resolve the problems that McDonald's faced, but also to prepare the company in case of a future crisis by making it more people-centered and customer-oriented.

Finding Common Ground: Building Consensus with Families in Conflict

Effective collaboration with families doesn't always mean agreement — it means

working through differences with respect, transparency, and a shared focus on the

    student.

5 Practical Tips for Navigating Conflict with Families

    1. Listen Actively: Before responding, ensure the family feels heard. Use affirming

language like, 'I understand this is frustrating.'

    2. Assume Positive Intent: Recognize that families are advocating for their child out of

love and concern. Respond without defensiveness.

    3. Clarify and Restate: Rephrase concerns to confirm understanding: 'So you're

concerned that…' This shows empathy and builds trust.

    4. Invite Partnership: Ask, 'How do you think we can work together to solve this?' This

empowers families as part of the solution.

    5. Follow Up Promptly: Document agreements and send a follow-up email to reinforce

    transparency and commitment.

Bonus Strategy: Bring in a Neutral Facilitator

If collaboration has broken down, consider involving a trained mediator, school

psychologist, or family liaison to help rebuild trust.

Adapted from family engagement and conflict resolution strategies used in inclusive

    school settings.

    **## what-is-child-trauma-infographic.pdf**

    WHAT IS

Every child reacts to trauma in their own way. What feels scary or overwhelming to one child
might not affect another in the same way. Trauma can come from a single upsetting event,
ongoing stress, or at the hands of those children trust. It’s important to recognize the kinds of
experiences that can be traumatic to understand their impact and better support children. To
understand the impact of trauma on children, youth, and families, it’s helpful to understand
the difference between acute, chronic, and complex trauma.

    #### **Sample Scenario: Family-School Disagreement on Behavior Intervention Plan**

    **Student**:
_Susan_, age 7, is a second-grader who receives special education services under the category of Emotional or Behavioral Disorders (EBD). She has a history of trauma related to domestic instability and was recently placed with a kinship caregiver (her aunt).

**Setting**: Susan’s inclusive general education classroom.

**Concern**: The school recently developed a Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP) after several incidents of classroom disruption and physical aggression. Susan’s aunt believes the plan is punitive, particularly the use of behavior charts and public consequences. She is requesting changes, but feels her concerns are not being taken seriously.

    **Tension Point**:

    · The teacher and support staff feel frustrated by Susan’s behaviors and report that the BIP “has structure that she needs.”

    · Susan’s aunt expresses that the plan causes shame and that Susan has regressed emotionally since its implementation.

    · The principal has called a meeting with the team, including a school social worker and a family liaison, to find common ground.

    #### **Student Task:**

    #### **Choose one of the following:**

    Write a
**2-page** role-play script OR create a flowchart/visual model showing your approach to school-family conflict based on the above scenario.

**In your script or flowchart, you should:**

    · Identify what triggers and communication breakdowns are occurring.

    · Use trauma-informed language to frame the discussion.

    · Include specific actions (validating family voice, suggesting alternatives, collaborative goal-setting).

    · Ensure the solution maintains
emotional safety and includes ongoing support/follow-up.

    **Assignment 2: Discussion Prompt**

The parent raises their voice and says they feel ignored by the school.

**How would you respond in the moment in a trauma-informed way?** Consider how family trauma, stress, or past school experiences might affect communication.

How would you follow up to rebuild trust and foster ongoing collaboration?

How would you respond in the moment? How would you follow up afterward to rebuild trust and ensure future collaboration?

    Assignment 3: Peers replies

Kaylee post: If a parent raised their voice and said they felt ignored, I’d try to stay calm and respond in a trauma-informed way. I’d validate their feelings by saying something like, “I’m really sorry that you feel this way. I want to understand what’s going on so we can fix this together.” I’d keep my voice gentle, give them space to talk, and remember that their reaction might come from past school experiences or stress that I can’t see.

Afterward, I’d follow up with a quick call or email to thank them for sharing their concerns and explain what steps I’m taking. I’d also ask how they prefer to communicate in the future so we can stay on the same page. The goal is to show consistency, rebuild trust, and make sure they know I actually want to collaborate with them.

Ansta post – In the moment, I would remain calm and empathetic, validating the parent’s feelings by saying something like, “I hear that you feel ignored, and I want to make sure your concerns are addressed.” I would actively listen, reflect their concerns, and ask clarifying questions to understand what support or communication would be helpful. This approach respects their perspective and acknowledges that stress, trauma, or past school experiences may influence their reactions.

Afterward, I would follow up by summarizing the conversation in writing, outlining agreed-upon next steps, and maintaining consistent communication. I would provide opportunities for the parent to be involved in decision-making and express appreciation for their input. These steps help rebuild trust, demonstrate reliability, and foster ongoing collaboration to support the student.

    Assignment Prompt & Instructions

    **General Instructions for your Assignments:**
During Week 1 through Week 7 of this course, you will have a new assignment each week. You should create a new set of files for each assignment. During Weeks 1 through 7 you are NOT building on your previous assignment, like you did in WEBD121. Instead you are creating a new set of files for each assignment. However, make sure you save all of your files from each assignment because you will need them later for your Final Project. During Week 8, for your Final Project, you will create a Home Page with a navigation menu that uses JavaScript for drop-down sub-menus, which will link all of your previous assignments together, creating a comprehensive website that showcases all of your work this semester.
You must write the code files by hand for all assignments in this class. A simple text editor, such as Notepad or Notepad++ will suffice (or TextEdit on the Mac). DO NOT use GUI editors, such as FrontPage, Dreamweaver, etc. You must write the code for your web page files yourself. If you are using a PC, it is strongly recommended that you download the free [Notepad++](https://notepad-plus-plus.org/) text editor because it contains extra features which assist with debugging, such as line numbering and color coding of different elements of syntax. **Mac users** should use the TextEdit text editor that comes with the Mac OS. However, if you are a Mac user, make sure you set [TextEdit](https://www.tekrevue.com/tip/textedit-plain-text-mode/) to use Plain Text by default.
Make sure all of your web pages comply with the HTML 5 standards and CSS standards. DO NOT use obsolete HTML elements and attributes from previous versions of HTML. By including the HTML 5 DOCTYPE declaration in your webpages, and validating all of your [HTML files,](https://validator.w3.org/#validate_by_upload) you can be sure that your code complies with HTML 5. Also, make sure that your external style sheet (.css file) passes validation at the W3C [CSS Validation](https://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/#validate_by_upload) Service. Make sure you use the "Validate by File Upload" option (and NOT the "Validate by Direct Input" option), on both of these validators since this is the way your instructor will check your pages when grading your assignments.
    **Specific Instructions for Assignment 7:**
Perform all of the following steps to complete this assignment:
    1) Begin by creating a new file in your text editor and include all of the basic HTML code like you did in your previous assignments. Or you can simply make a copy of your HTML file from last week and name the new copy LastFirstAssignment7.html (where "Last" is your last name and "First" is your first name), but be careful not to overwrite your file from last week because you will need it again when you do your Final Project during Week 8.
    2) Make sure you change the contents of the <title> tag to "Assignment 7" (just the words – not the quotation marks) and make sure your full name is inside of the <h1> heading, just like in your previous assignments. Also, delete the contents of the <script> tag — everything between the <!– and //–> tags, if you created your new file by making a copy of your previous file, because you will be creating a brand new page with different JavaScript code for this assignment. Save your file.
    3) Upload this file to the HTML [validator](https://validator.w3.org/#validate_by_upload) to check for compliance with the HTML5 standards. Your file should pass validation. If you receive any errors or warnings, then go back through the previous steps of the assignment again until you have corrected all errors and your file passes validation.
    4) Create another new file in your text editor and save it as Assignment7.css or make a copy of last week's CSS file, being careful not to overwrite last week's file.
    5) In your CSS file, write code to set the background color of your page to #FFB3B3 and write code to center the h1 element. Save your CSS file.
    6) Access your webpage again in your browser and confirm that your page has a pale red background and that the heading is centered. Upload your CSS file to the CSS validator to check for compliance with the CSS [standards](https://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/#validate_by_upload). Your file should pass validation. If you receive any errors or warnings, debug your CSS code until you have corrected all errors and your file passes validation.
    7) Open your Assignment 7 HTML file for editing. Next, you will reuse and slightly modify code from Lab 11-4. Make sure you change the value of "expires" to a future date. Similar to Lab 11-4, prompt the user to enter a hexidecimal color code. However, instead of prompting them for their name, prompt them to enter their age. Your code should set a cookie with the information the user enters and then retrieve that information from the cookie and set the page background to the color entered by the user.
Note: It is recommended that you test this assignment in Internet Explorer and/or Firefox. This code may not work correctly in Chrome.
    8) You may add any additional HTML, CSS, or JavaScript content that you wish, to practice more of the features that you have learned about in your online textbook, as long as all of your code files still pass validation. However, do not add anything to your files that would make them invalid according to the standards. You can confirm this by making sure your files still pass validation.
    9) Before submitting your assignment, validate your HTML and CSS files one last time at [Validation Service](https://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/#validate_by_upload) AND [W3C](https://validator.w3.org/#validate_by_upload), using the "Validate by File Upload" option. **Note: It is critical that you debug and fix ALL errors identified by the validator before submitting your assignments. Contact your instructor for assistance if you are having difficulty debugging and fixing your errors because it is imperative that all of your code files pass validation.**
    10) Create a zip archive containing all pages pertaining to your website (.html files, .css files, .js files, image files, etc). Make sure you maintain the necessary directory structure in your zip archive so that your webpages will refer correctly when unzipped. In other words, if your images are in a sub-folder, in relation to the folder containing your .html file, then you need to maintain that same directory structure in your zip archive, too, including the sub-folder. **Submit only the zip file for grading.**
    **Validation Requirements:**
    Before submitting your web site:
    1. Validate your HTML file at [W3C](https://validator.w3.org/#validate_by_upload), using the "Validate by File Upload" option, and fix any errors that the validator identifies before submitting your web site for grading.
    2. Validate your CSS file, using the " [Validate by File Upload](https://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/#validate_by_upload)" option, and fix any errors that the validator identifies before submitting your web site for grading.
**Note: It is critical that you debug and fix ALL errors identified by these two code validators before submitting your assignments. Contact your instructor for assistance if you are having difficulty debugging and fixing your errors because it is imperative that your code files pass validation.** Remember that valid JavaScript relies on a foundation of valid HTML and valid CSS to function as intended.
**Submission Instructions:** Create a zip file containing all files related to your web page (.html files, .css files, .js files, image files, etc). Make sure you maintain the necessary directory structure in your zip file so that your webpages will access correctly when unzipped. In other words, if your images are in a sub-folder on your computer, in relation to the folder containing your .html file, then you need to maintain that same directory structure in your zip file, too. Submit only the zip file for grading.
