    [>Statistics homework help](https://www.sweetstudy.com/fields/mathematics-statistics)

Complete Session 6 Cast Study: Case Study 13.1 in the textbook.

Submit a Word document formatted in APA style complete with cover and reference pages.  The reference page must have at least one entry:  the textbook.

The submission must be a form Research Report with the following parts:

    1. **Background information about the case:**  The section must provide information about the people, places, operations, business, etc. and the research question or practical business challenges for which the current research will be used to provide a solution .  This section need not be long; up to two well written paragraphs are usually sufficient.
    2. **Descriptive Statistics and Data illustration:**  In this section, the submission must summarize how the data was obtained (see chapter 1 of the text). Graphs and charts illustrating the main features of the data are also required – please see chapter 2 of the textbook.   Finally, a table of descriptive statistics accompanied by  description and explanations of the main features of the data are also required.
    3. **Statistical Method:** This part of the submission must explain the main statistical method(s) used in the case.   What is the theory behind it? What are the working hypotheses (null and alternative, etc.), what main measures, statistics, or parameters etc.,  are to be estimated or calculated using the method; how does it measures or calculates these measures, statistics, or parameters?  Finally, this section must describe how the results of the statistical method are interpreted. That is, what is it about the results that would indicate that the working hypotheses or research questions are confirmed or rejected or perhaps need to be modified and tested again?
    4. **Results:**  The actual results of the statistical method applied to the data are now presented in this section.  The section requires the student to describe the results and their theoretical interpretation based on the description of the method described in the previous section.
    5. **Conclusion and Recommendation:**  This section restates the statistical results and applies it to the business situation in the case.  It also makes practical recommendations about what steps the business in the case can take going forward based on the results of the statistical analysis.  The application and recommendation can take one or more of these general forms.

    1. The statistical results of the data analysis provided an answer(s) to the issues that the business is facing.  As a result specific policies or practical steps can be implemented in the business.
    2.  The statistical results of the data analysis provided only partial answers.  More research and tests need to be done to come up with a more useful answers for the business situation.
    3. The statistical results did not provide any useful information for the challenges that a business(s) is facing.  Recommendations for conducting new research with new approaches, data, variables, etc. may be required.
    4. Note:  there is always room for 'further research' since it is impossible for a single research case to answer every possible question.

    Note

    1. The textbook provides narratives, questions, or actual steps/questions for each case study.  While these are useful for conducting actual research, the submission must take the form of a research report and follow the above pattern.
    2. Consistent with the emphasis of this course on interpretation, an edited version of the answer key for the case study have been provided [here](https://swu.instructure.com/courses/4178430/files/302833049?wrap=1 "Case Study 13.1 Answer Guide.docx") [Download here](https://swu.instructure.com/courses/4178430/files/302833049/download?download_frd=1).  Students are required to use the information to enhance their understanding of the statistical methods and the results obtained.

    **Research Paper – Due**

    Feb 23, 2025 11:59 PM

    SCMT509 B001 Winter 2025

For your research paper in this course, you will write an analytical research paper addressing a major issue of your choosing from among the topics covered in this course. As a research paper, your paper will have to answer a significant puzzle related to a course topic.

**Title Page of the Paper:** The title of your paper should be brief but should adequately inform the reader of your general topic and the specific focus of your research. Keywords relating to parameters, population, and other specifics are useful. The Title Page must include the title, name, course name and number, and Professor's Name.

**Introduction, Research Question, and Hypothesis**: This section shall provide an overview of the topic that you are writing about, a concise synopsis of the issues, and why the topic presents a "puzzle" that prompts your research questions, which you will include. This section will end your introduction with your research question.

**Review of the Literature:** All research projects include a literature review to set out for the reader what knowledge exists on the subject under study and helps the researcher develop the research strategy to use in the study. A good literature review is a thoughtful study of what has been written, a summary of the arguments that exist (whether you agree with them or not), arranged thematically. At the end of the summary, there should still be gaps in the literature that you intend to fill with your research.

As a literature review, this section should identify the common themes and theories that the prior research identified. In this section, what you do is look at the conclusions of prior research and identify what the common themes are you see in those conclusions. You then identify those themes. The APUS online library has some helpful information on
    [what a literature review](https://www.apus.edu/apus-library/resources-services/Writing/writing-center.html) is.

**Methodology and Research Strategy**: This section provides the reader with a description of how you carried out your qualitative research project, and the variables you identified and analyzed. It describes any special considerations and defines any limitations and terms specific to this project, if necessary. This section can be brief or more complicated, depending on the project.
**NOTE:** Human subjects should NOT be used as part of your methodology and research strategy.

**Analysis and Findings:** are not the same as conclusions. In the analysis component of this section you identify how you analyzed the data. The second part is the finding you got from your analysis of the data. The findings are the facts that you developed, not your interpretation of the facts. That interpretation is conducted in the conclusions and recommendations section of the paper. Findings will come from the prior research you examined and your analysis of those prior findings to create new findings for your paper. While there may be some facts that are such that they will stand and translate to your paper, the intent is to create new knowledge, so you will normally analyze the data to create your own findings of what facts that data represents.

**Conclusions and Recommendations:** is the section where you give your interpretation of the data. Here you tell the reader what the findings mean. Often the conclusions and recommendations sections will mirror the findings in construct as the researcher tells the reader what that researcher sees as the meaning of that data, their conclusions. Then, drawing on those conclusions, the researcher tells the reader what they believe needs to be done to solve/answer the research question. This section may include recognition of any needs for further research and then finishes with a traditional conclusion to the paper as a whole.

**Remember, your paper should seek to answer a question that helps to solve the research puzzle you identified.**

    **Technical Requirements**

    · Your paper must be at a minimum of 15 pages (the Title and Reference pages do not count towards the minimum limit).

    · Scholarly and credible references should be used. A good rule of thumb is at least 2 scholarly sources per page of content.

    · Type in Times New Roman, 12 point and double space.

    · Students will follow the current APA Style as the sole citation and reference style used in written work submitted as part of coursework.

    · Points will be deducted for the use of Wikipedia or encyclopedic type sources. It is highly advised to utilize books, peer-reviewed journals, articles, archived documents, etc.

    · All submissions will be graded using the assignment rubric.
